What to expect

during your visit

preparing for your

first visit

Coming to our offices for the first time to determine what orthotic or prosthetic device you need can be overwhelming. We can assure you that we offer compassionate, experienced professionals dedicated to your recovery and freedom. Please arrive at our office at least 15 minutes before your appointment to complete paperwork. Our team members can assist you with this process.

If you would like, download the paperwork from our website ahead of time to speed the process of arrival and check-in. Just print and fill it out and bring it with you to the appointment.

Appointment preparation

For any services through our office, particularly if we have never seen you before, you will need a prescription from your physician. When you come to your appointment, please bring all insurance cards with you. We will use these to determine your coverage and to find out if any authorizations are required. If you would like to speed up your check-in process, you may print off all necessary forms from our website and fill them out in advance of your visit.

If your appointment is for a spinal orthosis, please bring a bathing suit or leotard with you. For all other devices, please wear clothing that can be easily pulled above the areas of concern. If possible, wear shorts if you have leg issues. This allows for a more thorough exam and aids in the casting process.

We give each patient a comprehensive evaluation to determine range of motion, muscle strength, static/dynamic skeletal observations, and history. If you have previous devices, it is helpful to bring them with you, so we can determine what you are used to or what changes would need to be made in a new device.

our process

Restoring normal body function and movement is the goal of treating any disability. The exact manner of replacing the loss of function varies from person to person. Therefore, we review biomechanical rationale to assess your situation, and help determine the specific design of an orthosis or prosthesis.

Once you decide on a design with the help of our practitioner and in accordance with your doctor’s prescription, we take measurements or castings based on your needs to get the process started.

we work with you

Determining the best approach for each need requires a close working relationship among physicians, therapists, as well as our practitioner and lab technicians.

After we take measurements or a cast, your device goes to our in-house team of technicians. Once in our care, our lab technicians have the experience and training to fabricate superior orthotics (braces) and prosthetics (artificial limbs) at our on-site lab.

The collaboration of our experienced team gives Alpha-Omega the ability to determine how to meet your functional needs with the best possible orthotic or prosthetic device.
